Small 4to., pp.138,(vi) publisher’s pictorial adverts, glazed pictorial boards with blue cloth backstrip, lettering in black, illustrated with colour plates, b/w plates, and numerous in-text illustrations; foxing to fore-edges, a little paper-splitting along front inner hinge, light wear to extremities, including breaks to cloth at the head and the foot of the upper joint, with the joint itself remaining firm, superficial scratches and surface-soil to the boards, overall a very good copy of this scarce title. Jennie Harbour was employed by Raphael Tuck from 1919, producing the illustrations to My Favourite Book of Fairy Tales (1921), and went on to illustrate the Newbery Classics edition of The Yellow Fairy Book (1927), which also contained stories by Hans Andersen.
