Two volumes, 8vo., pp.xi,828;vii,686, blue cloth, gilt, front boards lettered in black, b/w frontispiece, very numerous b/w illustrations throughout, including 11 folding plates to Volume II; contemporary ink ownership inscription (dated 1916) to front free endpaper of both volumes, toning to free endpapers, and foxing to prelims/end leaves of Volume II, with superficial paper-cracking to rear inner hinge, Volume I has a small area of loss to cloth and puncture mark near foot of spine, a small knock to lower spine of Volume II, rubbing and occasional slight wear to extremities, overall very good.
